Instagram carousels, generated as animated slides

Every clip below was produced by the same pipeline: a brief becomes a story arc, the arc becomes typed slides, a validation gate refuses anything unreadable, and the renderer emits one silent 1080×1350 video per slide. Nothing here is hand-composed in a design tool.

A pull request that waits three days does not get a slower review. It gets a different one — the author has moved on, the branch has drifted, and the reviewer is reading code nobody remembers writing.

We sampled 4,000 merged PRs across a 60-engineer org. Sixty-four percent of substantive comments landed in the first 200 lines. Past 600, reviews stopped producing comments and started producing approvals.

The fix is not "review faster". It is "send less". Cap the diff and the latency takes care of itself.

What is your team's actual median time-to-first-review? Most people guess low.

A starter that has gone quiet is almost never dead. It is cold, or it is hungry, or you moved it somewhere with a draught.

Warmth does more than flour here. At 20°C a starter can take twelve hours to peak; at 26°C it takes four. Most "my starter stopped working" posts are really "my kitchen got colder in October".

Change one variable, wait two feeds, then judge. Changing the flour, the schedule and the hydration at once tells you nothing.

Where does yours live — and what is the actual temperature there?

Turnout for a mayoral race is roughly a third of a presidential one. The offices on that same ballot set your rent rules, your bus routes, your school calendar and your water rates.

The measures at the bottom of the page are the ones almost nobody reads, and they are frequently the ones with the largest direct effect on a household budget.

Your county clerk publishes the full text of every measure, usually as a PDF nobody links to. Twenty minutes with it is the highest-leverage civic thing most people can do in a year.

Which local measure is on your ballot that you have not read yet?

We shipped to 312 wishlists and learned the hard way that a demo is not marketing — it is the last 5% of marketing.

What actually moved the number: showing the game in places where people were already looking for that genre, six months before we had anything playable. What did not: polish, trailers, and a devlog nobody subscribed to.

Numbers in the carousel are from our own launch. One title, one genre, one team of two — treat them as a shape, not a benchmark.

If you are pre-launch: what is your wishlist count today, and where did the last hundred come from?

Night shift does not just move your sleep. It moves it into daylight, into noise, and into a body still running on the wrong clock.

The interventions with the best evidence are unglamorous: consistent light exposure at the start of the shift, blackout on the way home, and a fixed anchor sleep even on days off. Rotating your schedule "to be fair" is the single most disruptive scheduling choice a workplace can make.

This is general information from published shift-work research, not medical advice for your situation. If you are chronically exhausted, that is worth a real appointment.

Rotating or fixed where you work — and who decided?

Nobody churns because the price went up. They churn because they found out from an invoice.

The pattern that works is boring: announce once with the reasoning, announce again with the exact new number for that specific account, then leave a long enough gap that anyone who needs to escalate internally can. Three touches, ninety days, no surprises.

The comparison slide is the part most teams get backwards — a migration is a communications project with a billing change attached, not the reverse.

If you have run one: how long was your notice window, and would you widen it?

A brief that lists everything decides nothing. The value of the document is in what it rules out.

The three lines that do the most work: who this is for, what it must not be, and how we will know it worked. Everything else is context, and context can be a phone call.

The anatomy slide is the version we actually use. It fits on one page on purpose — a brief long enough to need a contents page has already stopped being a brief.

What is the one line your briefs are always missing?

Most of a marathon block should feel too easy. That is not a motivational line — it is what the distribution looks like when it works.

Roughly eighty percent of weekly volume sits below the first threshold, and the hard sessions are hard because everything around them was not. Runners who blur that boundary get a training week that is uniformly moderate, which is the one intensity that improves nothing.

The pace numbers here are illustrative. Get yours from a recent race or a field test, not from a calculator fed by a goal time you have not run yet.

What does your easy pace actually look like — and be honest about the last one.

Grid batteries are sized in hours, and almost all of the ones being built are four-hour systems. That is the number that decides what they can and cannot do.

Four hours covers the evening peak. It does not cover a still, cold week in winter, which is the case the grid actually has to plan for. The gap between those two problems is where the argument about long-duration storage lives.

Figures here are illustrative and rounded; if you want the real ones, national grid operators publish interconnection queues and they are more readable than you would expect.

Which duration does your region's queue actually skew toward?

An exhibition is a sequence before it is a set of objects. The first room decides what every later room means.

The install schedule in this carousel is the real shape of one: eighteen months from the first list to the opening, and the last six weeks are almost entirely labels, lighting and walking the route backwards.

Everything here — the gallery, the names, the dates — is invented for illustration.

Curators: what is the one decision you always make later than you should?
